The Teddington Townhouse

This Victorian terraced property was transformed from a home with dark, small, poorly lit rooms throughout the ground floor, into a bright and open family home. A star of the show is the bespoke glass roof we designed to wrap around the ground floor and maximise the light flooding into the house.

We completed the ground floor rear and infill side extension to create a large open plan space. Large contemporary minimal framed sliding doors lead out from the family space into the garden to create inside/outside space and make the room feel bigger and brighter.

The interior design was subtle 'industrial style' with exposed steelwork painted to match the glazing frames and exposed London Stock brick. With the clients love of query antiques, and retaining original features in the existing house, this project is a lovely balance between the age and character of the original house and the comfort of modern living.

A new opening was created between the font lounge and rear open plan (with pocked doors for flexibility), this creates a line of site between the front bay window and the rear doors through to the garden. This creates a wonderful sense of openness, light and space as well as creating connection between the rooms and the option for a more open family home.
