Our recent project in Twickenham showcases the transformation of a classic Edwardian semi-detached property, a beloved style in the area. The homeowners aimed to maximize their space and create a functional yet beautiful environment that would serve their family for years to come.

Although the property featured a converted loft and a conservatory-style ground floor extension, the layout was less than ideal, with an awkward staircase complicating movement throughout the home. Recognizing the potential for improvement, we undertook comprehensive extensions at each level.

On the ground floor, we extended to the rear and created an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living space that promotes family interaction and provides an inviting area for entertaining. A small extension on the first floor at the rear created a master suite, offering a private retreat for the homeowners. A transformation with a new brick dormer at roof level added three additional bedrooms and a bathroom, accommodating the family’s need for space for work, leisure, and hosting guests.

The final result is a spacious six-bedroom, four-bathroom home that meets all of the family's needs.

Throughout the project, we adhered to the brief of crafting timeless, traditionally designed extensions that harmonise the existing architecture. By using matching stock bricks and incorporating red brick detailing consistent with the original design, we ensured that the new additions complement the home's heritage while enhancing its functionality.
